Problem 1 -

In order to change filter parameters on a go, you had to have many filters created in the backend and call the right filter at the right moment. So for example, if you need to change sorting you had to have 2-3-4-5-6-10-100 or more filters, each with own setup. Also switching between different types of filtering could be slow if lots of data were to be re-arranged. 

Problem 2 - 

When you needed to combine AND/OR type of filtering you had to do long procedure described here. Now the procedure is not so visually compelling but in reality it is 5 times quicker and allows  great flexibility when combined with Problem 1 as also solved.

You can create Filters using Operations pre-created on a backend and modify how Filter is to work, return data and arrange data on a fly from the App itself.
